Britain Turns Heads at Interski 2015

Brits Wow World Skiing in Argentina.

The British Association of Snowsports Instructors is just home from Ushuaia, Argentina and one of its most successful Interski events ever. Praise was lapped on BASI for the performance of its team throughout the week both on and off the slopes.

Some 36 nations attended The Interski Congress and presented 5 on slope demonstrations, 2 on-snow workshops and 2 off-slope mini lectures, key note lectures and a 4 day ski school session for 50 local children.

For a mixed nation team dual slalom competition, BASI’s demonstrators Amanda Pirie, Lynn Sharp and Craig Robinson were successful in the qualifying rounds and Lynn and Craig stormed through to the finals with their Italian and Japanese team mates to be pipped into 2nd place in a closely fought final.

Britain’s recognition as a major player in the world of snowsports instruction was underscored by BASI’s Dave Renouf being elected Vice President, meaning Britain will play a key role in shaping and developing the next Interski Event in 2019 in Bulgaria.
