Good Ski Guide exclusive:

EASY DOES IT!

Our guide to the world's tamest, wimpiest and most benign resorts - for the 80% of us who prefer gentle runs!

by John Hill and Nick Dalton

In reality most holiday skiers don’t spend all of their trip mastering mighty vertical walls and dropping down mogul fields, not because they can’t, but because they don’t always want to!

Skiing isn’t just about doing the hardest thing. It’s about having fun out there in the beautiful mountain scenery. And on a glorious day, particularly in the warmth of spring, simply cruising the easy pistes is as good as it gets.

Skiing the easy slopes is a joy to so many, and is something that is catching even for those who regard themselves as better skiers. It’s time to celebrate the laid-back Ski Easy resorts with the glorious, rolling runs. The pretty villages you can appreciate on a gentle tour, and the charming views you get as you leisurely meander from peak to peak. Places where skiing really is a holiday rather than a mental and physical challenge.

So here’s our guide to the world’s best easy-to-ski resorts. Many will know some of them already. And if you’re a novice, or planning your first ski trip, you’ll be amazed at how far you can get with just the most basic of technique.

These are all places that any of the Good Ski Guide staff would be happy to cruise about at any time – skiing at its most enjoyable and enchanting.
