Insurance

If there is one thing you take from this website, it is this. Do not go anywhere near a mountain unless you are insured.

People do crazy things in ski resorts (like tobogganing down hills on food trays) and the odds of getting hurt while you are there are high.  When I was a chalet girl I was on a bunk bed and dreamt I was falling, I was, I woke up when I hit the floor and dislocated a couple of fingers, but that was minor compared to some of the other accidents that happened over the season).

Tour operators usually provide staff with insurance but this can be fairy basic cover, you may wish to top it up so you need to make sure you read the terms and conditions. One insurance doesn’t fit all, you need to make sure you are covered for everything, If you bring your own equipment this is often not covered, and you need to be sure your Medical insurance covers all eventualities. If you ski off piste make sure you are insured to do so, otherwise you have a very large chance of footing a big bill.

We’d recommend you go for seasonal or annual insurance, the following offer a variety policies that cover any added extras for both medical and equipment insurance
