Snowsports England has just launched its Way2Snow campaign to get people to learn to ski or snowboard at home ahead of their first winter holiday.

Industry organisations have joined Snowsport England to create its first national campaign. Participants will learn to ski or board at an indoor real snow facility, building up proficient skills to book their first snowy holiday to the mountains.

For £299, adults will get 12 hours of expert tuition on real snow at Chill Factore in Manchester, SnowDome in Tamworth or The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead.

A reduced price is available for juniors aged 11-16, plus tailored sessions for those with disabilities and additional needs, available to book through Disability Snowsport UK.

The Way2Snow package includes:

  • Free ski/snowboard, boots and helmets with lessons
  • Savings on winter sports holidays with Neilson and Crystal Ski.
  • Discounts on equipment and clothing from Snow+Rock, Ellis Brigham and The Snowboard Asylum (TSA).
  • Free Ski Club of Great Britain membership – including access to ski communities and year-round discounts.
  • Half price Snowsport England membership – with a huge number of benefits for those starting in snowsports.
  • Free tickets to the UK’s largest snow shows this autumn.

A percentage of fees will go to Disability Snowsport UK and Snow Camp, charities that help young people turn their lives around through snowsports.

James Arnold, CEO of Snowsport England, said ”nowsports are perfect to try for fun, whatever your age or fitness level. Similar to the Couch to 5K programme, Way2Snow is specifically designed to take someone with little or no experience to a proficient level, and a great way to get more people to try snowsports and build momentum ahead of the next Winter Olympics, now only months away.”

Virginia Anderson, of Disability Snowsport UK, said ”Skiing and boarding are very accessible for all kinds of learners; it’s all about the right equipment and instruction tailored to your needs. And we hope to provide one-to-one tuition to many more disabled people and learners with additional needs.”
