Hike for 500km!

The wild romantic mountainscape of the Kitzbüheler Alpen with its pasture lands, forests, Alps and impressive summits invites guests to go on awesome tours – 500 kilometres of hiking paths and more than 20 Alpine huts get the heart of all nature-lovers beating faster. In addition to that, hiking pleasure in the Brixental is now guaranteed: The region has been awarded the Austrian Hiking Seal of Quality!

Those who don’t fancy hiking alone can avail of the hiking programme offered by the tourist office, which for the most part is free of charge. Theme paths and Kneipp parks offer variety in your holiday.

 

Mystical mountain

Mountain adventure world await. The enchanting Filzalmsee lake in Brixen and the ‘Alpinolino’ in Westendorf don’t just enchant the little ones, adults too are mesmerised by these mystical realms.

 

Summer Card

An easy ascent to all the adventure worlds is assured by the 29 cable cars, helping you get up 14 mountains. The ‘Kitzbüheler Alpen Summer Card’ includes, as well as all the cable cars in the region, 39 additional bonus partners (museums, show mines, leisure facilities, swimming pools, outdoor partner etc.).

 

NEW: Golf course. The new Kitzbüheler Alpen Westendorf is situated on the sunny plateau in the Brixental valley. The 18-hole golf course of 5,940 m and a par of 71 is a challenge for all golfers as well as a place to relax for everybody. A driving range completes the offer.

 

Easy biking

Forty electric bicycles, 9 hire stations and 11 battery change stations ensure you get around in the mountainscape of the Kitzbüheler Alpen in an environmentally-friendly and easy manner. One battery charge can last for up to 80 km. Barely any energy expenditure is required, since for every turn of the cranks the e-bike helps out, providing an additional 30% of the power that you generate yourself. Reach your destination effortlessly! Kitzbüheler Alpen – Brixental is part of the biggest e-bike area in the world with more than 310 e-bikes, 80 hire stations and 59 battery change stations.

 

Mountain bike challenge

The “approved bike area” offers more than 175 km of bike trails in the Brixental valley. Organized bike tours and specialized bike hotels make it a paradise for bikers and hedonists. Downhill cracks will find a kick on one of the single trails: the Lisi Osl Trail (2,2 km), Fleckalmtrail (7 km), the Wiegalm Trail (1,6 km) and the new Gaisberg Trail (2 km) – all to be reached comfortably by chairlift. The region is host of the annual KitzAlpBike Festival.

 

Natural culinary experience: “Brixentaler KochArt”

The ‘Brixentaler KochArt’ initiative promotes local quality products and puts temptation in your path with creative recipes of this gourmet region. Nine hosts in the Kitzbüheler Alpen are dedicated to working with small local farmers, promoting local specialities and traditional meals. With down-to-earth gastronomy, herb gardens, cheese dairies and the award-winning Erber Schnapps Distillery. Brixental satisfies every culinary wish, and the top-end of fine cuisine is  the restaurant “R Simon Taxacher” in the Relais & Châteaux Rosengarten, holder of four Gault Millau toques.
