Morzine

Morzine

Morzine, an hour from Geneva airport, is twinned with Les Gets as part of the Franco-Swiss Portes du Soleil. This vast, sprawling region rivals the 3 Valleys as France’s biggest.

Morzine is a great all-rounder with skiing for every level, allowing quick and easy access to Avoriaz and then onto Chatel, Morgins, Les Crosets and all other villages in the full area Portes du Soleil lift pass.

Head to Chatel and Super Chatel for the best of the quiet slopes on a busy day, and mountain restaurants that won’t break the bank! Beginner boarders may want to cut their teeth on the small snow park at Les Gets or head Les Crosets (Swiss sector) for the park which is less busy than Avoriaz and very well groomed.

Morzine is set in a pretty chalet-syle atmosphere with warm and friendly locals. For food La Bergerie is a real treat: gourmet dining on the finest Savoyard fare -fantastic, locally sourced and very well cooked specialities for all tastes, such as roast lamb in hay. Try also the Clin d’Oeil for traditional dishes with extra zing, and possibly the best steak have ever eaten!

For après-ski Buddha bar offers a unique atmosphere. With a live DJ from 4.30pm it is one of the most popular bars in town. Dixies Bar is another top haunt before people move on to Cavern Bar for live bands and after hours fun.
