France is the world’s Numero Un ski nation thanks to its thousands of miles of snowy pistes. French resorts boast the highest altitude in the Alps, guaranteeing snow and high prices to match. France excels in easy motorway (freeway) skiing but also has very easy runs for beginners and intermediate skiers as well as some of the toughest runs in the world. Prices though are excruciatingly high and often double those of Austria or Italy.
